We, at Earlier.org-Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test®, are very proud to present the 2017 Gathering of Friends Dinner featuring Dr. Bennet Omalu on Thursday, October 19th! And, yes, we will admit, we have had several people say, "Why would you invite him? He doesn't have anything to do with breast cancer!" Our reply, however, is this…no, he doesn't have anything to do with breast cancer specifically, but he is involved with knowledge, the truth, "conformational intelligence" and awareness, which are ALL involved with breast cancer. There are so many parallels in Dr. Omalu's experiences and those of our found, Martha Kaley and her journey with Earlier.org.
Join us for a truly one-of-a-kind, unique experience to hear Dr. Bennet Omalu in person. Born in Nigeria in 1968, Bennet Omalu graduated from the University of Nigeria's medical school, before continuing his training in the United States. In 2002, he discovered the presence of a degenerative disease in the brain of former pro football player Mike Webster, naming the condition chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE). His efforts to raise awareness of CTE were rebuffed by the NFL, although mounting evidence eventually forced the league to make concessions. Omalu's work was dramatized in the 2015 film Concussion, with actor Will Smith portraying the Nigerian-born doctor.
PREVIEW: "Dr. Bennet Omalu delivers keynote to the UC-Davis Medical Class of 2016"
Following the DINNER and keynote, Dr. Omalu will be available
to sign copies of his newly published memoir
Truth Doesn't Have a Side. Copies will be available for purchase
on site, with a portion of proceeds benefiting Earlier.org!
